Course Description

Weekly live session Wednesdays 5:00 - 6:30PM ET

Students will embark on an exciting journey to learn the fundamentals of Spanish language and culture. Through interactive lessons, engaging activities, and multimedia resources, students will develop the necessary skills to communicate effectively in basic everyday situations.

Learner Outcomes

When you complete the course successfully, you will be able to:
  • Develop proficiency in conversation by engaging in simple conversations about personal topics such as themselves, their friends and families, their activities, interests, daily routines, jobs, classes, plans for the future, and references to the past.
  • Enhance written communication using complete sentences and paragraphs to communicate effectively on the topics mentioned, ensuring comprehensibility to a native reader.
  • Improve reading and comprehend texts related to personal topics, family, activities, as well as cultural texts that are prepared for Spanish learners.
  • Explore cultural comparisons and foster multilingual and intercultural appreciation; identify and compare similarities and differences between their own culture and Hispanic cultures, gaining cultural awareness; recognize and appreciate the value of learning to communicate in more than one language and gaining knowledge about other cultures.

SPAN 101 or equivalent.
