Course Description

What is leadership? What makes a leader? Leadership is one of the most hotly discussed and debated topics today. While classic pedagogy explores the subject through frameworks and case studies of leaders in positions of power, this course offers students an experiential, inward approach guided by self-awareness, self-reflection, and self-growth. It is designed for anyone curious about effective leadership and/or being a better leader today—at home, at work, and in the world. Students will gain insights on their inner power to embody leadership and to empower others as leaders. They will learn effective communication and collaboration skills, and will explore how everyone can learn to lead as a way of being. The teaching format for the course is based on weekly (1) reading materials, (2) written assignments, and (3) class discussions.
