Course Description

Project Management Essentials One-Day workshop will provide participants with the foundational knowledge to plan and execute successful projects. The hourly module includes formal lectures and exercises that reinforce the concepts presented in class. All modules are one-hour long and have been customized to the needs of FNIH.

The workshop is broken down into four, hour-long modules that cover: 

• Understanding our project stakeholders and the fundamentals for successful communications; 
• Starting the project by defining the needs, expected outcomes, and deliverables; 
• Developing a project schedule. Traditional scheduling practices and a new method optimized for knowledge-work projects are introduced; and 
• Executing the project by managing change, risks (uncertainty), actions, and decisions and providing status updates.
