Explore the anatomy of the human body, using a systems-based approach.

We will emphasize the connection between structure and function, relating anatomy to various pathological states.  Embryology and histology will be included, along with modern imaging methods.  This course is intended for upper-level undergraduate students, or postbaccalaureate students who plan to continue their studies in medicine or biomedical sciences. Biomedical researchers who seek a better understanding of the structure and function of the human body will also benefit from the course.

Learner Outcomes

When you complete the course successfully, you will be able to:

  • Communicate effectively using anatomical terminology
  • Describe the basic anatomy of the major systems of the body, and their relationships to each other
  • Apply the understanding of body structure to clinical situations
