Bundle Registration: 2-Workshop Bundle (TECH 071 and TECH 073)
Live Session: 10 AM – 3 PM ET including lunch breaks. Please note you will need to work on a group project outside of live session hours.
Background
Projects are any temporary undertaking that create a unique product, service, or result. Projects are all around us—from constructing new buildings, creating software applications, conducting experiments, or setting up a new program. Knowing the essential skills to deliver a successful project is invaluable.
In this course, students will learn tangible, best practices for effectively managing projects and working with teams. The skills are broadly applicable regardless of your role, industry, or career aspirations.
This course combines formal classroom instruction, in-class exercises, and outside-of-class group projects. Participants will spend 2-3 hours per week working with classmates collaboratively on a case study outside of the live sessions.
Objectives
The objective of this course is to impart the fundamental knowledge and practices required to execute a project effectively.
The course leverages critical concepts and processes as defined in the Project Management Institute’s Project Management Body of Knowledge Guide, which is an ANSI standard. Practical “best practices” and guides are also incorporated.
At the end of the class, participants will have the skills to initiate, plan, execute, and monitor a project. Participants will learn how to work more effectively with their teams and engage their stakeholders.

Prerequisites
There are no prerequisites for taking this course.
Credit
Although no grades are given for courses, each participant will receive Continuing Education Units (CEUs) based on the number of contact hours.
One CEU is equal to ten contact hours. Upon completion of the course, each participant will receive a certificate, showing completion of the workshop and 2.1 CEUs.
Participants will also be able to apply 20 contact hours toward their Project Management Professional certification requirement or for their Project Management Institute Professional Development Units (PDUs).
Microcredential
By completing TECH 071 and TECH 073 successfully along with an assessment, you will earn a Project Management in Health Sciences Badge that demonstrates the completion of professional programs designed for gaining proficiency in project management.

About the Instructor
Alan Zucker has over 25-years of experience working in the Federal Government and Fortune 100 companies leading projects and project execution organizations. He has delivered thousands of successful projects and major strategic initiatives.
In 2016, he founded Project Management Essentials to provide training and advisory services. His areas of expertise are project management, Agile transformation, and leadership. He has trained hundreds of project managers, helping many to pass the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
He is a keynote speaker, adjunct college instructor, and works with national, professional training organizations.
Alan holds a master’s certificate in IT project management from The George Washington University and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP®) and Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP®) by the Project Management Institute (PMI). He also holds multiple agile certifications from Scrum Alliance, Disciplined Agile, and Scaled Agile (SAFe).
