Three-Minute Talks: Talk about your Teaching with FAES

Join FAES on March 6, 2024 for our Spring 2024 Session B faculty kickoff event centered around talking about your teaching. Whether speaking to your students or a potential employer, we will practice giving an “elevator pitch” to highlight what you do best – teach! This event is open to all FAES faculty members, both courses and workshops, who are interested in better communication about their teaching skills or creating a solid introduction video for guiding students in their offering. Please note the Zoom link for this event will be sent out on March 5, 2024.

The FAES instructional design team will provide templates to help you organize your thoughts and use as a backdrop for your three-minute talk. Instructors should come prepared to talk about their course and workshop following a brief presentation from the instructional design team on components of a course introduction video and setting expectations for students. For your Three Minute Talk, you can choose to focus on one of the following:

  1. Practicing your introduction video to ensure students understand the content you will be covering and your expectations for success
  2. Communicating your teaching philosophy and learning process you use to guide your students in preparation for a job interview
