Overview

This microcredential focuses on applying modern AI and machine learning methods to biomedical problems—turning large, complex datasets into predictive models, insights, and decision-support tools.

This microcredential is for researchers and analysts who want to use machine learning, text mining, and AI tools to analyze biomedical data, literature, and clinical or experimental datasets.

Requirements

• 5-6 credits from any three of the following courses:
  • BIOF 395 I Introduction to Text Mining
  • BIOF 495 I Foundation Models and Large Language Models
  • BIOF 509 I Applied Machine Learning
  • BIOF 510 I Advanced Applications of Artificial Intelligence
  • STAT 504 I Fundamentals of Quantitative and Statistical Thinking for Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence
  • MATH 410 I Essential Math for AI and Data Science
• Students must earn a letter grade of C or above or a “pass” if the course is pass/fail. Audited courses do not qualify toward a digital badge.
• Programming completed in the last 5 calendar years can be applied toward the digital badge.
