FAES Teaching Interest Form
Thank you for your interest in teaching with FAES and contributing to our goal of providing world-class educational opportunities at the National Institutes of Health. Whether you are an experienced teacher or a prospective teacher looking for an opportunity to share your passion for your subject, we encourage you to consider teaching with FAES. Our Academic Programs team is ready to support our faculty and students to ensure a high-quality teaching and learning experience. Please tell us about your teaching interest by completing the FAES Teaching Interest Form.
FAES Academic Programs faculty development initiatives were recognized with a 2022 regional award from UPCEA, the leading professional organization for online, continuing, and professional education.
FAES Academic Programs subsequently shared a presentation at the UPCEA national conference, highlighting our learner-centered approach to faculty development, including our best teaching practices course for current and new FAES faculty members.

In addition, FAES faculty members are encouraged to enroll in FAES courses and workshops to further their professional growth and gain exposure to different teaching styles. Faculty members are eligible to take courses and workshops at a significantly reduced tuition rate. Please inquire at registrar@faes.org

FAES is seeking instructors for the following academic courses:

FAES academic courses are offered online, asynchronously for 7 or 14 weeks and bear 2-3 credit hours. A 7-week, 2-credit course requires learners to spend 10-12 hours of time on task per week.
Qualifications:
PhD or equivalent in related field and evidence of research productivity. Passion for subject and a learner-centered approach to teaching. Comfort teaching in an online asynchronous environment. Ability to support students through meaningful and timely weekly feedback and regular online office hours. Willingness to participate in FAES’s free online training course, Best Teaching Practices in Higher Education- Building a Learner Centered Course from Principles to Practice offered twice a year.

FAES is seeking instructors for the following workshops:
- BIOF 045 I Next Generation Sequence Data Analysis
- BIOF xxx I Spatial Transcriptomics
- STAT 011 I Conducting a Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis in Biomedical Research
FAES workshops are offered live online or in-person (lab skills). Workshops bear no credits and typically run 2-5 consecutive days, or 1-2 short sessions over 3-4 weeks.
Qualifications:
PhD or equivalent in related field and evidence of research productivity. Passion for subject and a learner-centered approach to teaching. Comfort teaching in a live online or in-person environment. Ability to support students through interactive hands-on exercises. Familiarity of setting up instance in AWS is required.
